Forbes identify PROMs as one of "7 Key Cancer Trends for 2018”, January 2018
To mark the New Year, Forbes Magazine has published a list of major trends that they expect to affect the lives of patients living with cancer in 2018. At number 6 is the widespread adoption of patient-reported outcomes: “What patients feel matters… As patients and doctors weight treatments that might improve quality-of-life, without necessarily improving survival, then PROs become more relevant."
We agree but would go further to cite the research from 2017 - see here - that also demonstrated that the use of digital patient-reported outcome measurement could help hospitals and doctors manage patients better and actually improve survival by up to 5 months.
